En route to my sister's home, I pass an inviting wooded area locked away by a chain linked fence. I want to venture into the forbidden forest to closer examine the leaf like ground cover standing at the foot of these beautiful trees. I spotted a path inside encouraging me to do the unthinkable -- should I or shouldn't I scale this fence to get lost in the enticing foliage. I shouldn't, demanded my mind, and for the sake of sanity, never mind my great dislike of creepy crawlers, I obeyed. Maybe the next time this battle enrages, I'll obey the adventurous me and find my way in (I might have to have insect repellent and long sleeves/pants with my socks pulled up over my pants in order to do the will of the carefree mind but I'll do it!).

Heading Out
Wednesdays are usually the day I work on program fixes, modifications and research from my home office. I was given this privilege many years ago as a perk for managing the I.T. department and a way to get more work done without interruptions. The downside to this benefit is that family and friends think I'm off on Wednesdays and free to do their bidding; arghhhhh. So I often don't answer the phone or open the door if someone stops by unannounced. In other words, I become a hermit for the day which includes not leaving the house even after the work day is done.
Well, I got the idea to visit my mother-in-law after work this past Wednesday which almost frightened me after the words left my mouth. "What, leave my safe haven on a Wednesday?!?" Well I promised to do it so for comfort, I decided to bring along my beloved canine, Macy; he's always ready for a road trip. I happily packed up his dinner, grabbed a few of his toys, his leash and a poopy bag. Strapped on his seatbelt harness and we were off.
It actually felt good to be out on a Wednesday. I may try this again... well maybe after the warmer temperatures return.

Happy Fall Colors
Picked up a Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6 lens at a yard sale recently and thought I'd try it out. The images come out a bit soft (not exactly sharp) but that may not be a bad thing. Gonna play with it some more with specific shots in mind; portrait models holla out!

A Scary Moment
OMG! Nooooooo........
What would be your response if you dropped your precious ring near an open drain in a sink? This is a scary moment indeed.
When my husband saw this scene he just about jumped into the sink to save the ring. I guess he saw the danger lurking and imagined the cost to replace this replacement ring (this is not the original engagement ring but, as you guessed it, a replacement).
No need to worry, the ring is safely resting on my vanity far, far away from any open drain.

Black Waves
It was time for a hair update so my daughter pulled out the supplies. She smoothed a protective base onto my scalp to keep down irritation then applied the cool, creamy, slightly smelly chemical to persuade my new growth to fall in line with the already submissive extended ends. After a little while in the sink it was time to dry and curl. Heat and hot air blew through my wavy, wet hair creating a lighter, drier existence just before the scissors snipped through a few layers to shape it. Ahhh, now for the finishing touch. A flat iron, set to the right temperature, pressed and curled my freshly permed hair to this beautiful work of art. Now I can step into the wind and enjoy the airy flow swirling about my head.

In Need of Help
This is what happens when I don't have anyone to stand in front of the camera as I test technique. My husband said this looks like a mug shot, like someone caught me off guard. Well, I might have been caught off guard by the sweat and the mosquitos attracted to it (it was night out). However, I think it looks quite nice... oh did I say that with a straight face?!? ;-) I need help!
Sugar Fettish - Conquered
Serena Chapman is a very intelligent young lady, recent high school graduate, and headed to college. Her parents planned a picnic in honor of her graduating from one phase of life and boldly entering into another. But of course they couldn't be selfish and celebrate alone, they invited others of us to join in; and boy am I glad they did. I had a good time with the family and snapping a few pictures of Serena and her friends.
I hadn't noticed the table decorations right off but when I did... I had to still myself and not give in to the sugar fettish I'm currently nursing at the moment. Those Skittles sure would have carried me over for a few hours but only to leave me wanting other confections. So I'm proud to say, I won! I didn't eat any candy at the picnic; but I won't say what I did after, he he he he.
